Types of Insulation for Your Home — Spray Foam, Batt & Roll, & More
When the time comes to fortify your home against the elements, there are various insulation options at your disposal. Here are some of the most popular types of attic and wall insulation options for homes across New Mexico:Loose-Fill & Blown-In Insulation
This type of insulation is made up of loose fibers or pellets that are blown or poured into the desired area. It’s excellent for filling irregularly shaped spaces, such as attics and wall cavities. Loose-fill insulation is typically made from materials like fiberglass, cellulose, or mineral wool. It provides good thermal resistance and can help improve energy efficiency.Batt & Roll Insulation
Batt and roll insulation consists of pre-cut panels or rolls made from materials like fiberglass or mineral wool. It’s relatively easy to install, and insulation contractors commonly use it in walls, ceilings, and floors. Proper installation is crucial to ensure there are no gaps or compression, which could reduce its effectiveness.Reflective Insulation
Reflective insulation is typically made from aluminum foil or plastic film and is designed to reflect heat away from your home. It’s commonly used in attics, under roofs, or in crawl spaces. While it’s effective in reducing radiant heat transfer, it’s often used in combination with other insulation types to achieve maximum efficiency.Spray Foam Insulation
Spray foam insulation is a versatile option that forms a protective barrier when sprayed onto surfaces. It expands to fill gaps and crevices, creating an airtight seal that effectively prevents heat transfer. Homeowners frequently install spray foam because it is particularly useful in hard-to-reach areas and can offer high R-values.Choose Your Insulation Wisely
Whether you’re interested in cellulose insulation, fiberglass insulation, or any of the other options, choosing the right insulation for your home depends on factors like your climate, budget, and specific needs. Consulting with a professional can help you determine the most suitable type and ensure proper installation, ultimately improving your home’s comfort and energy efficiency.Benefits of Professional Insulation Installation
Whether you’re gutting your downstairs to expand the kitchen or you’re starting from scratch with a new home, you need to make sure that your insulation is installed correctly the first time. It’s the only way to ensure that your insulation provides an adequate thermal barrier. We can come up with a plan for insulation that works for your home and your budget.-

Roadrunner installed air conditioning when I was out of town, five mini split units. If I hadn't known, I didn't have air conditioning before. I would never have known they installed it. The house was spotless. The job was perfect … More and they even painted the covers to match exactly the stucco on my home. I was not here, but they seem to be very professional about Being in my home ,always locking up at the end of the night. I would highly recommend this company to do work.Id like to thank Mauri, Guz, Justin and Julian, what a great job!!!

My wife and I had Roadrunner install a three room mini-split sytem at our house in El Dorado which required the removal of a large wall-mounted evaporative cooler and some serious exterior and interior wall repair after that. What a fabulous … More job and what a bunch of friendly, professional, and thorough people! We were beyond impressed. You may pay a little more for their expertise, but you get what you pay for. We highly recommend this knowledgeable outfit consisting of Steve, Joel, Mauri, Gus, and a few others.

My husband and I hired Roadrunner to replace our gas furnace with a heat pump system so that we could have air conditioning in the summer as well as heat in the winter. The system was installed a couple of days ago and we are so pleased … More with the quiet operation of the Mitsubishi air handler and the warmth that the heat pumps provide.
The service provided by Julian and Juan was fantastic! Though the installation took longer than expected due to a delay in the shipment of a part and an issue with getting our Nest thermostat to connect to the Mitsubishi system, I was impressed with how they kept us informed of where they were in the process and how they did their best to minimize any discomfort. They did a great job of cleaning up at the end of the day and made sure that we were happy with the placement of equipment and sealing/insulation around wall intrusions. Julian even delayed his planned time off by a couple of days so that he could ensure that everything was working properly for us. It is rare to see that level of dedication to a project and to a customer's satisfaction, and we really appreciated it!
The staff at Roadrunner was great to work with and we would highly recommend them to anyone looking to replace their heating and cooling systems! -

Probably the best experience that I've had with a contractor. Steven was very organized in detailing the quote options, incredibly responsive to questions before and after the project. The project involved an unexpected challenge … More with drilling through my walls, which I thought were adobe but were concrete block. They handled it without drama, protected the house from the dust, and cleaned it up afterwards. They took the time to show me the features of the units after installatioin. I'd probably have never realized some of the aspects of their function. I can't recomend them enough.

They do great work both plumbing and HVAC. Not the least expensive but very reliable and high quality work including splits, water heaters and general maintenance.
Signs that You Need to Replace Your Insulation
As the seasons change, your home’s insulation silently battles the elements. It’s a shield against the biting cold of winter and the scorching heat of summer. Unpredictable Indoor Temperatures
If you notice that certain areas of your home are consistently colder or hotter than others, it could be due to inadequate or deteriorating insulation. Scheduling an insulation installation service can help you maintain a consistent temperature throughout your home.
Declining Indoor Air Quality
If your insulation is past its prime, you might be breathing in harmful contaminants. Poor insulation can lead to moisture buildup and even mold growth. Make sure you reach out to our experts as soon as you suspect issues with your home’s indoor air quality due to subpar insulation.
